MYGYM Health and Fitness – COVID-19 Plan and Important Information

Updated 5 January 2022

MYGYM takes the health and safety of its patrons, staff and their families seriously – we are vigilant in policing our hygiene standards at all times and we have registered as a COVID Safe business with NSW Health.

It is important to note however, that although we have implemented certain measures beyond our regular practices, we also need your help to respect and follow these simple rules for entering and training within our premises.

In addition, we urge you to please notify staff, personal trainers and/or group fitness instructors immediately if you notice anything that is not in compliance with our COVID plan.

To view the complete copy of MYGYM’s COVID Plan, please ask staff at reception.

Capacity

– All fitness venues must abide by the 1 person per 2 square metre rule. MYGYM is 1300sqm which means that we could theoretically hold 650 people in the facility at any one time.
– During normal peak times, MYGYM would rarely have over 90 patrons training within the facility at any one time.
– We have displayed the capacity for each training room (based on the original 4:1 ratio) on the wall directly outside of each training room; our staff will police the number of people per room.
– On the gym floor and in the ladies area, patrons will only be able to perform “super-set” exercises using a maximum of two pieces of equipment at any one time. Both pieces of equipment must have a towel placed on them (at the same time) and must be wiped down before and after use.
– There will be no requirement to book general gym or cardio equipment. However, we will require bookings for group exercise classes (see below).
– Once a patron has completed their training, they should aim to leave the facility immediately.
– The maximum capacity for the creche is 20 children at any one time (in conjunction with creche staff ratios). Bookings for the creche must be made up to 12 hours in advance by patrons.

Cleaning and Sanitization

– All patrons are required to sanitize their hands upon entering the facility.
– Each patron must have their own towel with them – placed on equipment of use or beside them during group exercise classes. If a patron does not have a towel, they will be required to purchase ($15) or hire ($2) a towel. MYGYM will refuse entry for anyone who does not have a towel with them.
– Disinfectant wipes are available throughout the gym and are to be used by patrons to wipe down equipment before and after use.
– Although Water bubblers are available for use, MYGYM encourages patrons to bring their own water, or to purchase one at reception.
– Exercise and stretching mats throughout the gym have been removed and are temporarily unavailable. Patrons are advised to bring their own training mats.
– All bathrooms and changerooms will have hand touch surfaces wiped down and sanitized hourly by MYGYM staff.
– Equipment will continue to be sanitized by MYGYM staff throughout the day in accordance with MYGYM’s cleaning schedule.
– A thorough, disinfecting clean of all facilities and surfaces will be carried out each night by our professional cleaning team.

Illness and Symptoms

– Staff, patrons or guests who are unwell (lethargy, flu like symptoms or cough) or have been in close contact with someone that has been unwell will not be allowed entry into the facility.
– If at any time MYGYM staff observe that someone appears to be unwell and poses a potential risk to others, we will instruct that person to leave the facility immediately and have them seek medical attention – this is in line with the Department of Health’s guidelines.
– MYGYM in its own discretion may take a temperature reading from any individual who enters the premises.
